Blue/green algae Update

Submitted by on June 23, 2017 – 12:36 pmNo Comment

While we have had no formal reports from the Environment Agency of blue green algae in Stewartby Lake yet, visitors should exercise caution. Due to the recent warm temperatures and time of year, there is a real chance that it could be present. Blue green algae can be hazardous to health causing rashes following skin contact and illness when swallowed. Please treat the lake with extra caution at this time by keeping yourself and your pets away from the water!
