Celebrating Trees through art

From a massive exhibition, to talks, guided walks and kids’ activities, the Higgins Bedford has got a jam packed schedule of tree related events this winter, which you HAVE to check out. There’s literally something for everyone!

‘A Walk in the Woods’ Exhibition (30 September 2017 – 25 February 2018)

A collection of 40 watercolours, drawings and prints from the past 200 years, showcasing the role of trees and woodland in British landscape, from the world-famous Cecil Higgins Art Gallery collection. Also features 10 minute tours, and a BSL only tour (Saturday 10th February 2018).

A Walk in the Woods Study Day (Saturday 20th January 2018)

An unmissable day for any art enthusiast – with guest speakers Christiana Payne (Professor of History of Art at Oxford Brookes University), Fiona Stafford (Professor of English Language and Literature at Oxford) and David Boyd Hancock (author, lecturer and British cultural history specialist).

Tree  Identification Walk (Thursday 15th February 2018)

With our very own Jo Roberts, in Bedford.

Our Public Tree Planting (Sunday 4th February 2018)

We’re back out at Waypost Wood again, finishing off the site we started earlier this year, and working towards our total of 5 million more trees in the ground!
