Kids (and some adults)enjoy the Forest Centre’s new playground

A select group of local ambassadors opened a new play area at the Forest Centre at Marston Moretaine,
today. The VIPs, a group of thirty pupils from Church End Lower School, gave the new play
equipment an expert once-over during an exclusive play session. Fortunately all the ambassadors declared it
fully fit for purpose.
“It was the most funnest ever” was the verdict of the group, after their thirty minute play time; the snow didn’t put them off at all.

The playground is now open to all – come and have a go.

The new area is great for the over 5s. Unfortunately it replaces the excellent old play area, leaving virtually nothing for the under 5s. There is a small castle for 1-2 year olds and the train has been replaced, but that is it. Thankfully the old balance circuit remains.

Thank you for your feedback; it’s always useful to receive. We did need to replace the old equipment as it was becoming unserviceable and could have started to become dangerous over time if left as it was. When we re-designed the play area we did try to carefully consider the balance of equipment and aimed to cater for a wide range of ages, with the play tower, sand pit and train specifically for the under 5s. For the more adventurous younger ones with the assistance of a parent they also have the chance of starting to use the cradle swing, low-level balance circuit and even some of the lower climbing structure. So I’m sorry if you feel that we haven’t achieved it – but it was done with the very best intentions!

it’s interesting to find this link as I was looking for information on your web site about the play area and I can’t find anything except this. It would be good to see some photos of the play area, or a floor plan as I wish to bring my two godsons tomorrow, and I’m not sure if it’s siitable.

Good thought. I’ll try to deal with this very soon although as you posted this yesterday, I fear I’m too late but hope you decided to visit anyway. The play area is designed to be used by children of roughly 3-13 years.
