Path now open!

Submitted by on December 30, 2016 – 10:23 amOne Comment

The newly laid section of path north of Millbrook Station is open! The completion provided a LOT of Christmas cheer to the Ranger team who, along with our regular visitors, have had to contend with the flooding there most winters.

We are very grateful to Central Bedfordshire Council for funding the work on this very popular public footpath. Civil engineers were commissioned to design a solution to the problem. Due to the location of the flooding, it would have been difficult and extremely expensive to drain the water away so the decision was made to build the path up, above the flood level.

What we have now is a fantastic new raised path which should lift us up and out of whatever rain Mother Nature may throw at us in the future. We hope you enjoy using it.
