Wetlands Nature Reserve

The Wetlands Trail is a circular walk on surfaced paths around The Wetlands Nature Reserve. This beautiful, quiet area is managed for wildlife conservation and for this reason there is a small entry charge of £2.50 per adult and £1.75 for children/concessions (we also offer Annual Passes for £30) We ask that no dogs or bicycles are taken into this area.

In this quiet area you can watch birds and other wildlife from the hides overlooking the wetlands and also the Pillinge Lake (a long abandoned brick pit). Some areas have been fenced to keep out deer and rabbits and so allow wildflowers to thrive in traditional grass meadows. Children following the surfaced trail can go on a wildlife safari to discover fun facts about the environment and wild animals, by playing games on the information boards spread around the reserve.
